Yung Gore was born in Vietnam with 13 siblings, Yung was baptized at the University of San Diego in 1997 while studying International Relations. From developing and promoting recycling programs as a young student, protesting for farmworkers rights and participating in the “No compre uvas” protest throughout High School, to teaching English to recent immigrants while in college, purpose has always been important to Yung Gore. She brings this great sense of purpose and self-sacrifice into her relationship with God and her calling as a Women’s Ministry Leader. She has now served alongside her husband, Jon, as a minister in the San Diego Church of Christ for the last 12 years.
Yung has a passion for training new leaders, helping youth, and strengthening families. She received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, is certified in Conflict Resolution and Peacemaking, and is a certified facilitator of “Good Enough Parenting,”, “I Choose Us” marriage class, and “Why Do I Behave the Way I Do” self-awareness course. She has a dream of going on a mission to Southeast Asia.
She and her husband have two children, Imani and Aedan. His daughter, Imani, loves children and baking and her son, Aedan, loves sports, especially basketball. The family enjoys road trips, watching movies, playing in the ocean, and hanging out with their neighbors. Yung loves people, babies, yummy food and recently soaking in the goodness of kayaking and Hallmark movies.
